Hey everyone its Ally from session 5. Lately, I've been having this need to have scripture with me constantly. It actually is an anxious type of feeling. Anyone have any ideas or ways to have scripture with me constantly even at school, in class, anywhere I go? I've already tried writing the first letter of every word of a verse on my arm, but my parents get upset with me when I write on myself. Any ideas you all have would be incredibly helpful! thanks!

Memorize it! For real. It's one of the coolest things ever. Write it on a notecard and stick it in your pocket and memorize it all day long! Once it's in your head you will always have scripture with you!
ReplyDeleteMemorizing verses is probably the best way. I right things on index cards and put them in places I'll see them often (I use them a bookmarks or stick them on my wall.) I'm also pretty sure you can buy little tiny bibles that will fit in your purse or backpack. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteYes note cards are wonderful, but I'm a post it note kinda girl. I have post its all over my room and in my planner for school and stuff. Or even doodle verses while you're in class on your notes (if you can manage without getting off task that is haha)! Anything that involves writing it down and having it with you really seems to work! Then, once you've seen the scripture for a day or maybe a few, you will memorize it! Just try to figure out what works for you!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome that you're wanting it with you all the time! I think the bookmark idea that Erin talked about is good. Or buying a little pocket bible like she said. What I did is I wrote down one of my favorite bible verses on a piece of paper and taped it to the inside of my pencil box, so everytime I open it to get something, I read it (btw, it's Joshua 1:9)! Kind of dorky, I know, but I love it. :)
ReplyDeleteAnother option, is you can buy memorizing kits. Its a booklet of hundreds of verses on different topics and a little business card size plastic holder that fits right in your pocket and has verses in different translations for you. There fairly cheap about $15 bucks or maybe 20. But you can get them at Mardel or online a Amazon. Just search for memory verse packet, or cards.
