Preach the Gospel Always and if Necessary Use Words.

Hey my fellow Questies!
Its Andrew Korst from Session 5! This being my first post, I decided to lay out something that has really hit me this summer. The title of this post is a quote by Saint Francis of Assisi. I had heard it many times through youth group but not once had it ever meant something to me before. This summer, through Quest, mission trips, and Choir Tour, I have realized that many Christian preach the gospel by mouth but the ones that have had the most impact on me are the ones who preach through their actions. This has become increasingly evident in my life, looking at the people who I uphold as my role models in my church. Anyone can say that they follow Christ, but to truly follow him is another thing entirely. Jesus called the disciples to drop everything and follow him. Basically give up your lives and follow some guy that you hardly know. Pretty intimidating thought. But they did it. And because they did it the world was changed forever. Could you imagine how much better the world would be if everyone who claims to follow Christ actually did? That would be Earth shaking. We can make a start though! By truly following Christ and becoming the Christians that Jesus Christ intended us to be, we can set examples for others to follow. We can truly be the lights of the world. Matthew 5:14-16 "You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it give light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven." So this is my challenge for you Questies, as the school year quickly approaches, be prepared. We must walk in the light of God's word so that people will see the way that we live. As a good man Will Harris once told me at the end of camp, "Keep following Christ, people will notice you are different."
