  1. i think at the beginning it is talking about sin in a way because it says noone was good enough to open the scroll except the son of david(Jesus) because jesus was perfect but that is all i could think of.

  3. So alot of Christians think "I'll read Revelation because its alot like a sci-fi novel, its weird and unusual, and it holds my attention." Im not accusing you of this, I'm just making a generalization. Revelation is the last Book of the Bible for a reason. So to understand Revelation we have to understand the context of the whole Bible, remember the steps of Inductive. If you really have some questions and you dont want to read the rest of the Bible first, which you should, then try studylight.org, it has alot of Bible commentaries by men alot wiser than me.

  4. Ya, and I've been told that by other people before too, I only read this passage because my daily devotional book lead me to this passage. I've actually always been hesitant to read Revelation because I've heard that it can be confusing if you haven't read the rest of the bible first, but yesterday I was lead to this passage, so I figured that I might wanna try to understand it better. And thats why I turned to yall. But thanks for the site grant, I'll check it out.

  5. ok, so i go to a Christian school, and we've studdied revelation before, plus we did a study on it at my church. So heres the deal with Revelation: Alot of it is analogies or symbolic, and alot of it is also literal. But nobody knows for sure what is symbolism and what is literal. There are a ton of different timelines of Revelation made by people with different theories. Revelation doesn't necessarily go in chronological order either. So when you read it, know that some things are symbolic and it may not go in chronological order.

But here are some things we do know:
The lamb that was slain is Jesus, and the seals represent judgement that is coming on the earth. While there is some dispute about the specifics and timing of those judgement, I think everyone pretty much agrees on that. So basically God is the only one worthy to pronounce judgement on the earth. But if you are really interested in Revelation, I recommend a study guide, cause other wise it will probably be really confusing and mean nothing to you.
    hope this helps!
