Faith or Stupidity?

ok so theres this mission trip at my church and its going to mexico. I really want to go on it, but my mom might not let me because she thinks it isn't safe. I mean, I think that God is in control, and he will protect me if it is in his will to do so. What do yall think? When does faith cross into recklessness, if that can even happen?

  1. "Then the devil took him to the holy city and set him on the pinnacle of the temple and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down, for it is written,

“‘He will command his angels concerning you,’

    and

“‘On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you strike your foot against a stone.’”

Jesus said to him, “Again e it is written,‘You shall not g put the Lord your God to the test.’”

    Matthew 5-9

Yes, God is sovereign and will protect you if it is in His will. However, If you feel that God is calling you to go on a mission trip, but your mom doesn't want you to go, then He doesn't want you to go.

“Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you." Exodus 20:12

You are still living under you parents and need to listen to them because they have a lot of wisdom and concern for you.

Pray, pray, pray. Pray for you and seek Him in the scriptures. Pray for your mother that if it is the Lord's will that she will have a change of heart. If it is truly from the Lord then things will fall in place. And if not, then God has another plan for you that is amazing and will bring Him the most glory.

    Hope this helps!

  2. i totally agree with taylor.

if the lord wants you to go on the mission trip, then he will provide a way. one way you can glorify the lord throughout this situation is to honor your parents by obeying them and to take it to another level--do it without complaining. (sorry i dont have the scripture references)

dont lose heart. there are a million opportunities to glorify the lord, we just have to utilize the opportunities given
