The Lamp of the Body

Hola, Quest!

Last night, I was reading my Bible, and I came across a section that was kinda difficult for me to understand, but I prayed about it, and God helped me understand, so I thought I would share it with you in case it's confusing for you.

The lamp of the body is the eye. If your eye is sound, your whole body will be filled with light; but if your eye is bad, your whole body will be in darkness. And if the light in you is darkness, how great will your darkness be. Matthew 7:22-23

I was really confused on how the eye was the lamp of the body. Eventually, though, I realized that it meant what you see, and how you see it. So, if you're surrounded by good things and look at it in a good way, it makes light in your body, if that makes sense. But if you look at everything around you in a negative way, you're not letting any light in. You have to look at everything as God would see it, and you will have light within you!

I hope that made sense, but anyway, I just encourage you guys to look at everything in a positive light, and look at things like God would! After all, if your light is darkness, how great will your darkness be!

Love you guys! -Erin W.
