the Big BANG?

Hi quest! I miss and love you all sooo much!
So in physics today, we were talking about this big machine called the LHC, not to go into detail, but basically, these scientists are trying to expose a particle to exist called the Higgs boson. If what they do ends up working, then they could figure out somethings about where mass originated and all this stuff- like how the universe came to be. I got a little nervous when my physics teacher started talking a tad about the beginning of the world, cause I wasn't sure what I believed about it. Now I just have no idea. I think science and Christianity can mix, but not all the time, but I'm just super confused!
So I guess my question is....what are y'alls opinions on the creation?

  1. I believe that creation happened like the Bible says in Genesis 1 and the fossil record backs it up. But, give me a little while and I will give you some references that you can read.

  2. Hey Evi Lady! I know this probably doesnt help but i wanted to share it with you. This one time someone was trying to tell my pastor all about the big bang and how thats how the world was created, my pastor was young at the time argued with him and he said FINE! the very next day my pastor was at his work and telling peeople all about this book (the dictionary) and how the printer at kincos exploaded and BANG made this book that is in alphabetical order and almost every word know to man was in it. the people were so confused but the man he argued with the day before knew what he was doing and argued with him that that was unbileveable and just stupid and had no sence behind it, and my pastor said well isnt that what you were telling me?
haha i think its clever and great. but its so true. just think all about the world and how perfect and how wondrful it is, Earth is made up of so many parts and has so many things saying that it was just all part of a big band is like saying the dictionary is like an explosion of paper and words. its ridiculous. i know that probably dosent help at all but just thought iwould share. love you

  3. evi I went and got some advice from those alot wiser than me that I trust and they said "The Case for Creator" by Lee Strobel (student edition) is an excellent book for exactly what you are asking about. I have heard so many good things about it.

Lee Strobel was a hard core atheist who made it his life goal to disprove God and the Bible. He was as far away from God as it gets. But as he searched he found answers that he wasn't looking for and found God to be archeaologically and scientifically credible. He is now a hard core follower of Chirst and he is incredibly intelligent.

Let me know if you get a chance to read it

  4. Wow thank you both of you so much!
Madi- what an awesome annalogy. it really was cool- the only thing i'm curious about is if God made that happen- that type of thing, or did the earth just appear when He said for it to with no science behind it! but for real, that's so cool and i may use that in Bible-x one day!!!
Cameron- I'll definately check that book out and read it! thanks so much. I really really appreciate it.
