thoughts

"Thoughts become words.
Words become actions.
Actions create habits.
Habits build *character*."

*Character = our overall personality/disposition; WE form our own characters, based on our thoughts, words, actions, and habits...WE decide who we want to be.

I heard this the other day, and I think it is just so cool! I've been working on "monitoring" my thoughts lately. I try really hard to think something positive about the person I'm talking to or even the person I see walking down the hall. And I've found this quote to be so true...so many times I find myself thinking negatively about a certain person or a certain situation, and before I know it, I blurt out what I'm thinking without even meaning too.

Just a little something to think about (:

You're in my prayers,
Haley

  1. thanks for the encouragement haley! i have quoted this before in a frog camp presentation and it reads like this:

watch your thoughts. your thoughts become your words.
watch your words. your words become your actions.
watch your actions. your actions become your habits.
watch your habits. your habits become your character.
watch your character. your character becomes your destiny.

  2. Haley, it's amazing how things work out. Lately, I hadn't been at 100%. I needed something just like that to keep me going. I was looking forward to sleeping late yesterday, because I had a doctors appointment so I didn't have to get ready for school as early. However, I woke up 40 minutes earlier than usual, and just couldn't go back to sleep. I went looking for my bible, so I'd have something to do. I found it next to my computer, and decided, "why not, I'll check the blog." When I saw this post, I was in awe. I don't think it could have been timed better. Man, he works. So, thanks Haley. I love your posts. Keep at it.
