With the Word always

Hey Questers! So I just have a quick thought. I'm pretty sure that we all agree on the fact that the Bible is incredibly important. Like Dana said once while I was at camp session 6, "always be in and of the Word." Be in it studying and learning from it, and be of it by acting according to what you learn from it. So if this book is so important, and we are blessed enough to have a copy (or multiple copies) in our possession, then why aren't we constantly with it?

There's this friend of mine, a guy who I really look up to and is so in love with the Lord it's insane, and he always carries a tiny Bible in the back pocket of his jeans or his backpack. When I saw that, I started to keep a small ESV Bible that I have in my backpack for school, so I always had it with me if I needed it. And there's just a sort of comfort that comes with actually having the Bible with you. I am always reminded of the words of Hebrews 4:12, "For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword,it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." It's just awesome, you know? Knowing that you have the living word of God literally with you, in print, it just brings about a boldness and a comfort that I haven't found elsewhere. Anyways, if you don't already, I really encourage you to keep a small, compact copy of God's word with you always. In your back pocket, backpack, girls in your purse, anywhere. Just somewhere with you. Or even keep a copy in your car or something. I just think it's so cool to have such a powerful possession with you. It prepares you, guides you, comforts you, and gives you a boldness that is like no other. It is entirely truth, and is a weapon against Satan and his evil schemes. Plus, if it is a weapon (sharper than a double-edged sword), then won't we need it EVERYDAY we go out into the battlefield? I think so.

In his pure and holy embrace forever,
Alexa
