Music

Hey Quest!!
Its Hannah from session 5! Ok so for the past few days I've really been thinking about how much music can influence our moods, what we think about, our attitudes, and sometimes our actions. I used to listen to the music you hear on Kiss FM, even if it was totally inapropriate. I just told myself that it had a good beat, and its not like i was going to do anything said in the songs. But in filling my head with that kind of garbage, I started to be more selfish and worldly. I know that not all secular songs are bad, but since I got home from camp I've started listening to Christian music alot more. It has been so awesome to worship God through just jamming on my ipod! filling my head with praises to God has made me have a better attitude and just really changed how I think. I encourage you to try listining to more Christian music if you don't already. It's really been awesome for me!

1 Philippians 4:8 "Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."

  1. oh my goodness. we actually talked about that a lot during panel and how hard it is to fill our heads and hearts with pure thoughts and music. its so hard but in the end is it about glorifying ourselves or others? i cant wait for other campers to read this and see how beneficial it is to choose truth over comfort.
