Knowledge (Mind), Love (Heart), Actions (Soul)

*EVI! You are amazing, girl! I am SO glad I had time to read your post and really reflect on how I’m loving God, and even how I’m not loving God. Thank you so, so much for helping me realize how important it is love to Him every single day of our lives, not with only our mind and heart, but especially with our soul. Please keep posting! (:

While I was thinking of five things to write for “How am I loving God with my mind/heart/soul?” and five things to write for “How am I not loving God with my mind/heart/soul?” I noticed that many of my daily, personal examples could really lie under any of these three categories (mind, heart, and soul). It’s as if our mind, heart, and soul are SO connected and SO different in SO many ways. God calls us to take what we have stored in our minds and to use our hearts to transform this knowledge into love…ways of loving God AND others, even our enemies. Then, we are called to implement this love into our actions.

I see our souls as being the driving force behind our actions. The information from our minds and the love created by our hearts MUST be “sent to” the soul to affect and to influence our actions. Actions, actions, actions. So, so, SO important. Actions speak WAY louder than words. I guess this is why I see our souls as being associated with our actions…Earlier, Evi said that our souls last FOREVER. I really thought about that word for a good three minutes. Forever. Wow. What does that even mean?! Never dying, never fading, never leaving. Always there. Just like God! (: Anyway, because actions speak louder than words (I know, I know, cheesy saying…just bare with me please) their effects can last a LIFETIME. Yeah, words are very important too, but actions can affect a person even more. Likewise, our souls last a LIFETIME (forever…like Evi said), so our souls are the source of our actions (whose affects can also last forever).

This week and for the rest of your life, I challenge you all to take 1) the knowledge you have stored in your MIND and 2) the love that this knowledge has naturally and rightfully transformed into in your HEART and really try to thrust these two things upon your ACTIONS – your soul. It’s so, so easy to think of being nice to someone (with your mind) and to want to be nice to someone (with your heart)…but how much harder is it to actually BE nice to that someone (with your soul/your actions)?? A lot harder. I hope this is all making sense because it makes a lot of sense to me!

So, your mind, heart, and soul are connected in one way or another. One couldn’t exist or survive without the other. The mind’s task of storing knowledge affects the heart’s task of transforming this knowledge into love, which affects the soul’s task of implementing all of this into our actions. WOW. And you know what?! It’s just like how WE wouldn’t be able to exist or survive without GOD, and how our own actions affect God and those around us.

And I don’t even know if any of this is right or anything, so it’s fine if you think differently. But I love how we can all read the exact same thing from the Bible or from a post on this blog and come up with some really unique things that are so different from everyone else’s opinions. It’s amazing!

Oh, and Evi~I've trying to just listen to worship music for the past couple of days like you said you were doing, and you are so right...it's made me feel so happy and pure. I love it! Thanks!

Thanks so much for reading (:
