First of all, Whit, I am so encouraged and blessed by your story. I was smiling so big the entire time I read it becasue of the work God is doing through you... STUD. And to any of ya'll that have not read whitley's last post... READ IT!

anyways... the resurrection

If this is not truth; if God did not raise his son from the dead then our Christianity is all together worthless and deceived. This is one of the most pivtol chapters in our Bible. If this never happened then he is just like any other man who walked the earth.

We went over some factual reasons why we can prove Christ's resurrection in the Sky 4 Bible study this summer and I wanted to share it with you guys.

• Now no one can deny that Jesus body was not in the tomb three days after he was buried. This is fact. Muslim, Agnostic, or Protestant.
• So everyone explains the missing body by robbers (they say it was probably the disciples)

Reasons why he rose:

1. No one can deny that his body was not there three days later. Many extrabiblicar sources cite this fact.
2. The punishment for breaking and entering a tomb was death under the Roman government. The disciples were scared out of their mind once Jesus got arrested and there is no way they would have taken that risk.
3. The guards were gone. To leave your post in the Roman army was payable only to death. The guards would not have just ding dong ditched.
4. 20:1 Mary Magdelene came to the tomb first and then told Peter. Her and Martha also saw Jesus first.

• During these times a woman's testimony was not even valid in the court of law. aka: The leaders of these times did not even credit what a woman said about an event
• So lets say that the disciples really did steal the body and had to come up with an aliby (sp.?) also known as the gospels. Would they have made up the story that not only did a woman find the empty tomb first but she was also the first to see Jesus? NO!!! The disciples are not idiots. This is because this is really the way it happend, otherwise they would have made it someone more credible who found the empty tomb.
