Walking Targets

Yesterday we talked about how we are walking targets, and it was awesome, and it really ties in with John 13.

As christians we are all walking targets. Jesus has a target on his back and many people wanna take him out, stay with me, itll tie in with today. When we said "yes" to Jesus, targets got placed on our backs. They are people out in the world who want to take us out, they are waiting for us to say or do something so they can take us out.
In Luke 20:20-26 it talks all about how people were trying to trick Jesus into saying something so they could take him in and get him arrested, they were trying to take him out. But Jesus was careful about what he said and was "as smart as a snake but as gentle as a dove"

were going back to school soon and theyre people who are going to watch everything we say and do and they are going to have a bead(like when you look through a gun) on you and just waiting for you to mess up so they can hit your target.

today we read about a man who had a target, but instead of someone taking out himself, he took himself out. Any one know who it is?? I'll give you a hint, he's kinda known as a screwup! That's right! PETER!! Peter, was warned that that he was going to betray Jesus, and he denied it over and over. In Luke 22:54 we see that Peter sits down and lets his target get hit three times!! My point is not to talk about how Peter messed up, but my point is even though his target was all messed up and had holes in it and wasnt perfect he took it off and put a new one on.

Guys we are going back to the real world and we all have targets on our backs, and can i tell you something? People have everyright to hit your target if you leave it vulnerable! Be prepared as we go back to school and as we go out into the world, put on Gods Amour everday and keep our targets safe! And be smart and intentional! We can get to the point were we want to take off our targets and just take ourselves out, like Peter did, but if we do theres always another target we ca put on. But i feel as though if we dont give up and we have on our amour and we watch that target we will be blessed.
Keep this in mind as we go back to the real world, I know school starts next week for us, and I'm going to make sure my target stays safe. What are you going to do?
